On the eve of the festival, all family members get together to celebrate and enjoy a big dinner. People in different areas have different traditions. Mostly in Beijing we eat dumplings and watch TV on the eve. People wear their new clothes and set off fireworks. Most people stay up all night. Children get Lucky money from their parents and relatives. Everyone feels happy and enjoys the festival.
So we do a lot of things to prepare for it. Before the festival, some people go back to their hometown to get reunion with their children and parents while others clean their houses, it is believed that doing the cleaning sweeps away bad luck. People decorate their houses with paper cuts.

I'd like to tell you something about the Spring Festival, which is the most important traditional festival in China.
Before the Spring Festival arrives, people pour into the supermarket to buy foods, snacks and decorations. They always decorate their houses with many lucky symbols, such as the Chinese character "Fu". Most of the decorations are red, since people believe this color can make the monster "Nian" afraid and go away. On the eve of the festival, people get together for a big dinner and then make dumplings happily. They enjoy playing games and setting off wonderful fireworks at that time. During the festival, children are usually the happiest, as it's the time to receive Lucky money and eat various tasty foods!
This festival means a lot to all the Chinese and is considered to be a big part of Chinese culture.
